Stillorgan Park Hotel continues to go Green!

Stillorgan_Park_Hotel_Dublin_web_photo.JPGThe Stillorgan Park Hotel, Dublin, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Silver Green Hospitality Award for the second year running.  The award is presented to the tourism sector which proves their commitment to the environment by fulfilling a number of key requirements.  This programme engages the tourism industry to implement best practices which prevent waste and encourage resource efficiency.  Part of the Talbot Hotel Group, the Stillorgan Park Hotel is one of the group’s three hotels to be presented with the Silver Green Hospitality Award.
 
The award is granted on performance of the environment management systems, waste management, water management & energy management. Green Hospitality Award participants are audited by external auditors who examine the overall commitment of the tourism industry on a yearly basis. This prestigious honour is awarded with the objective of stimulating the adoption of good environmental practice through innovative environmental management.

General Manager of the Stillorgan Park Hotel, Mr. Daragh O’Neill is delighted to be awarded this high accolade, “our dedication and commitment to a cleaner, greener environment reflects the excellence in service that we strive to achieve here at the Stillorgan Park Hotel.  Our staff pledges 100% commitment to this initiative.  Overall consideration of our environment is fast becoming a key priority in today’s society.”

Mr. Michael Kitt, T.D., Minister of State at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government presented the awards and expressed the importance & benefits to the hospitality industry including the possibility of reducing waste going to landfill by 50%, reducing water consumption by 50% and reducing energy consumption by up to 30% all of which impact positively on the bottom line as well as on the environment. The programme helps by increasing efficiency operationally aiding the tourism industry to streamline their businesses practices effectively. This award has numerous advantages both to the industry and the environment.
