Stillorgan Park Hotel gets the Green Light

envircom_awards_photo_1.jpgThe Stillorgan Park Hotel, Dublin, is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Envirocom Award for Best Example of Sustainable Tourism in the over 50 employee’s category.  The award is  presented to the tourism sector which proves their commitment to the environment by fulfilling a number of key requirements.  This programme engages the tourism industry to implement best practices which prevent waste and encourage resource efficiency.  The prestigious award endorses the hotels continuous commitment to the environment and is the hotels second ecological accomplishment this year after winning the Silver Green Failte Award in May.

The award is granted on performance of the environment management systems, waste management, water management & energy management. Envirocom Award participants are audited by Dunlaoghaire Rathdown County Council auditors who examine the overall commitment of the tourism industry on a yearly basis. This prestigious honour is awarded with the objective of stimulating the adoption of good environmental practice through innovative environmental management.

Benefits to the hotel include the possibility of reducing energy, water and waste costs by 20-40%.  The programme helps by increasing efficiency operationally aiding the tourism industry to streamline their businesses practices effectively. This award has numerous advantages both to the industry and the environment.
