8 Stars for the Talbot Hotel Group
Today, all the stars were coming out for The Talbot Hotel Group, when they celebrated the recent receipt of 4 Stars from Failte Ireland for both the Talbot Wexford and the Stillorgan Park Hotel.
To receive this four star accreditation, both Hotels underwent rigorous checks from service through to their product facilities.
Mr John O’Donoghue, TD, Minister for Arts, Sports and Tourism at the celebrations said, "Recent years have seen very substantial investment in the Irish hotels sector and a general raising of standards, reflecting the continuing growth of the economy and the high level of guest expectations that now prevails. I would like to commend the Talbot Hotel Group for its commitment to such standards, exemplified by the accreditation being celebrated here today, and to acknowledge the Group's contribution to the continued growth of the industry."
The Talbot Hotel Group underwent enormous expansion in 2005 with a €40 million investment in the construction of the new Talbot Hotel in Carlow and redevelopments in both the Talbot in Wexford and The Stillorgan Park Hotel. The three hotels currently employ over 400 people from their local surrounding areas.

The geography of the hotels allows for a generous spread of the corporate and leisure market throughout Leinster including Dublin, Wexford and Carlow. The Stillorgan Park Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Dublin City Centre allowing access to the expanding corporate areas visiting Sandyford and the southside of the city. The hotel also provides a convenient shuttle service allowing guests to visit all popular tourist sites, theatre and social events within the city centre.
The Talbot Wexford is located on the Quay and provides the ideal backdrop for all corporate and leisure guests and is the perfect setting for family breaks or weekend getaways.
The new Talbot Carlow, opened its doors in late 2005, represents an investment of €20 million which offers Inspirit Health & Leisure Club including a swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna, steam rooms and Jacuzzi in addition to the Essence nail and beauty treatment suites. The hotel comprises of 84 bedrooms, conference and banqueting facilities for 300 guests and a fine dining restaurant, which will cater for 120 people.
The Talbot Carlow is located just 2km outside the town centre, this satellite town has a growing corporate market and also provides a wonderful setting for a family break away.
In July 2005 The Stillorgan Park Hotel completed the final phase of their development providing a much-anticipated new corporate facility namely the Carysfort Conference & Event Suite.
The Carysfort Suite overlooks the new French style courtyard area, which is adaptable for all occasions and has inbuilt, hi tech facilities, sound system, sound proofing and Wi Fi connectivity. There has also been an addition of three exclusive boardrooms.
The Stillorgan Park also recently added the White Pebble Spa, offering a luxurious haven of tranquillity consisting of seven treatment rooms; a relaxation area and a mud wrap room. The hotel has 165 bedrooms and is also home to the award winning Purple Sage Restaurant.
